Welsh poet Dylan Thomas was once a Wheatsheaf patron. We would normally celebrate his life on May 14th. Dylan Day. International Dylan Thomas Day. This year we are unable to do this so I have attached a link to a reading of my favourite Dylan Thomas work a Visit to Grandpas. The last time I heard this work, it was performed live at The Wheatsheaf by Guy Masterson (Grandpa) and Dylan Thomas great grandson. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_u_wlaV4X8&list=RDj_u_wlaV4X8&start_radio=1&t=0
Located two minutes from London's Oxford Street,  we offer an ideal escape from shopping.  Nearest tube is Tottenham Court Road.

The Wheatsheaf is a traditional pub with lots of history  and has played part in many television documentaries, films and shows. Our infamous customers and performers have included writers such as Anthony Burgers (Clockwork Orange), Dylan Thomas(Under Milk Wood). People who started their comedy careers here include Jo Brand,Stewart Lee, Paul Foot, Russel Brand Bridget Christie, Pippa Evans Cariad Lloyd; the list goes on.
